hooooouuuuu….heeeeeeeeee…….hooooooouuuuuuu…….heeeeee…….thats my deep breathing trying to hold in my anger about this drama! I really really went into with a fresh fresh fresh mind. If you have ever read my Itazanura wa Kiss rant or my It started with a kiss and They kiss again rant, you know I was never a big  fan of this series. But this  being new (2011) and k-drama I thought “ok K drama dont make the same mistake the other dramas did, just make this girl a fraction of a bit smarter” I just cant stand it. Ok maybe I should give a semi detalied account as to waht the story line is.

The girl Oh Ha Ni who is a sweet and lovely, but very stupid and unreasonable girl is in love with Baek Seung Jo the most popular smartest best looking most introverted unsocial man in the school. Eventualy her house falls down and Baek Seung Jo’s parents who are the long lost friends of Oh Ha Ni’s father contacts him and takes him and his daughter into their house. They live together and eventually everyone in the school finds out including Bong Joon Gu (who in real life is my age and I thought he was totally cute and I liked him very much and I didnt feel like a pedobear watching him and crushing on him) who is in love with Oh Ha Ni.

No this is me in a nutshell

So thats the story  in a nut shell no this is me in a nut shell.

Kinda like this but more tongue sticking out so annoying

Theres actually one part where Oh Ha Ni is older and she opens a glass door and rants how great this Baek Seung Jo guy is to the CEO of Baek Seung Jo’s dads gaming compan, and then she leaves and I thought she would forget there was a glass door and walk right into it cause she so dumb.

She also has this realy annoying lisp thing where she leaves her tounge out whens he talks or is doing something hard or consitrating. Its OMG>..SLAP SLAP SLAP….Its like watching Gilligans Island or I love lucy you just know what going to happen and u wanna be like noooo…….stop doing that stupid girl…..Whats with all the weird speech impedamints…gahhh!!! I feel like Azula when Zuko beats her and she goes nuts…… YA thats what I feel like everytime I hear her talk with her tounge or her stupidness…OH >>>OH>>>>…. I need to relax…

I give this 2/10 It was ok I get why people like it I just find it really annoying i like stong female leads.

To The Beautiful You

  • Title: 아름다운 그대에게 / Areumdawun Geodaeege
  • Also known as: To the Beautiful You / Hana Kimi / For You in Full Blossom
  • Genre: Romance, comedy, youth
  • Episodes: 16

CUTE CUTE CUTE….Overly cute overload! Hana Kimi -manga version, Taiwanese Version, Japanese Version all really good entertainment. The Korean version is no different! Its been forever since I read the Manga (like literally years ago. I honestly don’t read much Manga anymore I stick to classic novels like Pride and Prejudice) but this Korean version really seems to follow the manga from what I can remember,  maybe just not periodically correct.

So story starts off with the main character Goo Jae Hee a girl getting transferred from the states to an all boys school in Korea. To help her idol Kang Tae Joon a high jump gold medalist get back to jumping after his injury. She enters as a boy and even gets roomed with Kang Tae Joon. Kang Tae Joon is not happy about his new room-mate but slowly accepts and also finds out that she is a girl. Meanwhile Cha Eun Kyul, a skilled football/soccer player (doooooo I love him) befriends Goo Jae Hee and starts feeling something for her, but he thinks she’s a boy and he tries to suppress his feelings. Goo Jae Hee has feelings for Kang Tae Joon, but thinks he doesn’t know that she is a girl… and the plot thickens.

Wow… it’s literally been ages since I’ve watched anything worth writing about. Not even “North American” shows. Actually New Girl and Once Upon a Time are pretty good, but to be honest I wasnt feeling any new Asian dram show, or just anything really.  I actually was planning on shutting this site down. I’ve been watching a lot of my “white shows”. Anyways that all changed, between new Korean friends entering my life, Gangnam style, and this new drama called Faith.

Like I said before I didn’t care what new drama were coming out in Korea, Japan, China, (basically anything Asian oriented) but being a huge Lee Min Ho fan (he’s probably the only Korean actors name that I know off by heart) LoL, I favored him on my Facebook (it would be way cooler to friend on him FB and say we are friends lol) and I saw he had a new drama didn’t really pay attention to it for a few months now.

About 2 weeks ago I had a minor surgery. I Read 3 books, played video games, cleaned my place more than twice a day, I also watched pride and prejudice 1995 version like 8 times (mr.darcy yaaaa Colin Firth your aaaaaaa yaaa great tooo). Unfortunately I am still on a leave from work and am unable to do anything to strenuous. So I go on FB again and I see a recently updated picture for Lee Min Ho, in some sorta warrior costume. So I started looking to it and low and behold I end up watching the first episode.

THIS SHOW GETS ADDICTING FAST!!!

Genre: Romance, comedy
Episodes: 16
Broadcast network: MBC
Broadcast period: 2010-Mar-31 to 2010-May-20
Air time: Wednesday & Thursday 21:55

Lee Min-ho!.. Enough said. Probably the sexiest – most good looking Korean I’ve seen! I liked this series specially the first half its really super funny.

The story starts off with Park Kae In an almost 30 year old woman who trusts everyone and gives many many chances even when they have betrayed her. Her boyfriend, Han Chang Ryul, of a month has just broke up with her and fallen in love with her room mate, Kim In Hee, and they are getting married the next day. There’s is a young man named Jeon Jin Ho who is in a architectural competition and finds out that Park Kae In’s house (the one her father built-famous architect)  blue pints could help him win the contest. By a series of unfortunate/ fortunate events he moves in with Park Kae In, as she thinks he is gay. Park Kae In accidently causes trouble at Kim In Hee’s  and Han Chang Ryual wedding which causes them to break up and Han Chang Ryual realizes that Kim In Hee is a terrible person he tries to sincerely  go back with Park Kae. To complicate matters Jeon Jin Ho and Han Chang Ryual are rivals in the architectural world as well as the love world especially when Jeon Jin Ho realizes while helping Park Kae In get over Change Ryual that he has developed feelings for her and Park Kae In is torn with her feelings for Jeon Jin Ho since she ‘knows’ he is gay and nothing could ever happen between them

Like any drama there’s so much drama you get lost in what exactly what’s going on, just from the sheer volume of drama going on. So much drama…. But the funny parts were good funny really funny actually the first half you laugh, I laughed it was good. Second part is when the real hard core drama starts happening. The one scene that got on my nerves the most was when Park Kae In cried her…..biggest cry. I guess you could say and the camera was shaking all over the place…that was a minor thing but it just really bugged me. Also I feel very very sorry for the director Choi who is gay and had fallen for Jeon Jin Ho, but obviously that couldn’t happen he was the only caring stable person in the whole thing…a hopeless romantic. Poor guy. and you just feel really sorry for Park Kae In someone so sweet in and innocent and caring shouldn’t be treated the way she was treated but nice guys/girls. finish last….

I give it a 4/5 would I watch it again …probably not it was a one time watch kind of thing. Not like Bof or Coffee Prince or Fated to love you or Meteor Showers. I could watch those over and over again!

You’re Beautiful

Episodes: 16
Broadcast Network: SBS
Broadcast period: 2009-Oct-07 to 2009-Nov-26

This was such a cute show, a little slow but worth the watch. It was funny and cute I like all the characters and it was very smooth. The group famous music A.Njell has just added a new singer to the group to help out with the main vocals of – Hwang Tae Kyung. Due to his managers stupidity Mi Nam (the new singer) needs to go secretly to the states to fix his eyes from bad surgery done in Korea. His twin sister Mi Nyu who is a nun has now been coursed into helping out her brother and posing as him secretly until his recover and return home. Eventually two of the group members find out that she is a girl. One Kang Shin Woo doesn’t tell her that he knows and the other Hwang Tae Kyung figures it out in front of her. Kang Shin Woo begins to secretly like Mi Nyu and Mi Nyu starts to like Hwang Tae Kyung. Jeremy even gets thrown in in the love triangle…sort of…square I guess because he starts liking Mi Nyu but he still thinks she’s a guy and tries to hide it.

I love the love triangles and the main character, basically everyone in this show I just love except for Mi Nam (the boy twin)…Hwang Tae Kyungs mother and Yoo He Yi. The only thing Park Shin Hye is to cute to be a boy even when she was just pretending.

Yay I give this 4/5 in awwwwww… I like it. :)

Boys Over Flowers BOF Korean Drama

Its been forever since I posted, I couldn’t really keep up with reading the subtitles and watching the shows my head was hurting too much so I took a break from Asian Drama. I went back to English Period Drama for a month or two but I am back with a new reviews.

This has got to be one of my favorite versions of Hana Yori Dango. This series was made in 2009 so it’s fairly recent. The men are amazingly good-looking and girls are just as beautiful.

Just like my first Hana Yori Dango entry -click here to read it- starts off basically the same way. This time the girl is named Jan Di and her parents own a dry cleaning company. One day she heads to Shinhwa High School to deliver some uniforms that are cleaned. She actually saves a boy from committing suicide (started by the F4). The community is outraged at whats going on in this school and to make up for the incident and to keep the community quiet the chairmen decides to let the “commoner” Jan Di into the school. Thats basically the only thing that’s different in this version. The main character Jan Di is a swimmer, which I  haven’t seen in any other versions. I think the men are amazingly looking. I really don’t find anything wrong with this series except for the never-ending staring off into the distance looks, or the sad walking away looking at the ground in the rain that take up 85% of the show. Also for some reason I always seem to give up watching around episode 19 this is the second time I’ve watched it through, but around episode 19 I get really sick of Jan Di and the plot and then I started watching something else. Having said that it’s still really good and its number 1 favorite on soju.com. . To be honest I haven’t watched a lot of asian dramas because reading the screen is giving me a bad head ache.

1st Shop of Coffee Prince

This is a Korean Drama made in 2007 there are about 16 or 17 episodes.

It was pretty good. On mySoju its the 3rd most watched drama. I’m not sure how I feel about it. This girl Go Eun Chan, if I remember correctly she’s about 23 or 24,  she acts like a guy, dress’ like a guy, does basically everything that a guy does (due to her father dieing and her having to take over the family or some shiz like that).  She meets this man named Choi Han Kyul who believes she  is a boy and he hires her to be his gay lover (due to him not wanting his grandmother to arrange his marriage..or some shiz lol). He eventually opens a coffee shop and hires her, still not knowing that he is a girl. Slowly all the employees find out that she is a girl accept him. As time goes on he feels drawn towards her and he’s struggling with his feelings for her. He doesn’t want to except that he’s in love with a boy.

I found this almost hard to watch. It’s very dramatic, here I thought it would be like Hana Kimi where the guy who starts to like the girl dressed as the guy was kinda comical, but with this you feel pretty sorry for the guy. He really is struggling with his feelings for this boy/girl thing and he can’t figure out whats wrong with him. I wouldn’t want to fall in love with a boy who was pretending to be a girl if I were a guy : S   . That would just be weird.

Ok so anyways It was pretty good. Even now after a few months after I watched it, I still really like it. The one thing I really liked about this  movie is the music. Amazing music one of my favorite songs is

This song I don’t know why I like it it’s just really beautiful the way it sounds. I wish someone would translate it or I could just ask a Korean friend ahah so much work though. Anyways I would definitely give this a watch I think its worth it. There are other characters to get into but the main story revolves around these two.

I gave it 4 stars out of 5. It would have been 5 out of 5 if it wasn’t so damn frustrating. I felt so awkward watching it I had to give myself break with some other dramas to watch…haha ya. Sorry no episode summary. I hope you enjoyed :)
